Myth-busting (part I)

Updated: Feb 22

Ensuring our thoughts don't get in our way

Here are 5 'myths' you shouldn’t believe:

1. To be successful, you have to grind ❌

—> False. To be successful, you need a value proposition, execution and commitment ✅

2. It’s who you know, not what you know ❌

—> False. If I were to set up a meeting for you with a senior stakeholder in your dream industry, would you have an elevator pitch ready right this very moment? Probably not. It’s what you know AND how you can leverage it ✅

3. To be great at what you do, you have to take everything seriously ❌

—> False. To be great at what you do, you have to be yourself and you need to know when to let your hair down ✅

4. It’s a dog-eat-dog world ❌

—> False. It doesn’t have to be. What you believe is what you manifest. If you see everyone as your competition, guess what? They’ll become your competition. If you believe in synergy, you’ll attract the right people who’ll propel you in your journey ✅

5. People don’t want you to succeed ❌

—> False. Firstly, why are you thinking about what other people want or don’t want? Secondly, the only thing that matters is the kind of value you want to create and the kind of legacy you want to leave ✅
